Our Invisalign treatment process
Your first step to Invisalign treatment at James River Orthodontics is scheduling a free consultation. At your appointment, you’ll meet Dr. Scarborough or Dr. Loflin, who will give you a thorough orthodontic exam, complete with imagining from our 3D iTero® intraoral scanner. If our examination shows evidence that you could benefit from Invisalign treatment, we’ll start your treatment right away, using your smile impressions to create your first set of aligners.
Whether you only need treatment on one arch of teeth or both, you’ll receive custom aligners quickly, and you can begin wearing them immediately. The trays are designed for use 20-22 hours of the day — you remove them for meals and brushing your teeth, but otherwise wear them constantly. You’ll receive a new set of aligners to switch out every two weeks so that they can continue to slowly move your teeth into the perfect positions.
