As we enter this new year, our goal at James River Orthodontics is to keep everyone in the know about what’s going on at our practice! We’d like to think that we do a lot of really cool stuff for our patients & within our community. We hope you follow along and get to know JRO on a different level.

Dr. Scarborough
I’m married to my wonderful wife, Emily. We have two kiddos, Jackson & Sophia and a Goldendoodle pup. I founded JRO back in 2011 and am grateful to do what I love every day.
Hobbies: Outdoors and Photography
Favorite RVA restaurant: Peter Chang’s downtown
Where I went to school: Virginia Tech, VCU Dental, VCU Ortho
What I love most about JRO: I love working with our highly capable team to provide a great experience and result for our patients. I love bringing confidence to our patients by enhancing their smiles. It is easy to see how meaningful a great smile is in one’s life and to be a part of that journey is very rewarding.
Dr. Loflin
I’m married to my amazing wife, Allie, I have 2 daughters Mattie and Rolsie, and a baby boy on the way. We have a 10-year-old chocolate lab, Spruel, and a 16-week-old puppy, Hank.
Hobbies: Running, being outdoors, spending time with family, friends, and my dogs.
Favorite RVA restaurant: The Continental!
Where I went to school: UVA undergrad, VCU dental, UT Houston for Orthodontic Residency.
What I love most about JRO: Frozen yogurt – kidding! Our culture of service to one another and to our patients.
