Teens are excellent candidates for Invisalign. Invisalign Teen offers the same orthodontic and aesthetic benefits as standard Invisalign aligners — with additional features tailored specifically to meet the needs of teen patients.
How Invisalign® Teen works
Just like the standard line, Invisalign Teen relies on clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth. These aligners are custom-made based on each teen’s orthodontic needs and treatment plan and are worn for about 20-22 hours a day. Every couple of weeks, you’ll switch the aligners to accommodate changes from your teeth shifting into place.
A few unique features of the teen line include:
- Compliance indicators: A small blue dot will fade to white after you wear the aligners for two weeks, helping teens stay on track with their treatment timeline.
- Eruption tabs: Eruption tabs make it possible for teens to start wearing aligners even as their adult teeth are still growing.
- Replacement aligners: Teens will be provided with replacements, helping them continue treatment even if they lose or damage their aligners.
