Your first visit to our Short Pump office is complimentary, with no risk and no obligation!
It’s important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your decision to start treatment with us yourself or begin treatment for your child.
We go beyond orthodontics to give our patients a truly comfortable, truly happy experience. From your very first visit, you’ll be supported through various programs—during and after your treatment.
We believe that the most genuine, long-lasting smiles are created through extra care, attention, and support from an enthusiastic orthodontic team.
What to expect at your first visit
You’ll be greeted with smiles from our energetic team members when you step through our doors! We’ll acquaint you with our office and give you a tour of our amenities.
Adults, we’ll show you our private treatment rooms! Teens and kids, we’ll show you our candy bar, gaming, and iPad stations as well as the cool contests you can look forward to!
Once you’re feeling comfortable and excited to get started, we’ll begin your orthodontic exam. Your orthodontist, Dr. Scarborough or Dr. Loflin, will perform a full exam, including x-rays and diagnostic photos at no cost to you.
Your orthodontist will discuss your current condition, explain the treatment process in detail, and present your best treatment options to you. We’ll present the different types of braces we offer, and discuss Invisalign® treatment.
When you leave your first visit, you’ll have answers to the following questions:
What sort of orthodontic condition do I have, if any?
When is the best time for me or my child to begin treatment?
What type of treatment is best for my condition?
How long will treatment take?
What will my treatment costs be?
Can I start treatment during my first visit?
Yes, you can! We want your first visit to be as convenient and efficient for you as possible. Upon request, we reserve time in the schedule to start your treatment on the same day as your complimentary consultation.
You can leave your first appointment with braces on your teeth, or your Invisalign® scans complete. That means you miss less work and/or school!
If you’re interested in same day braces or same day Invisalign® scans, please let us know when you’re requesting your consultation.

We’re excited to meet you and help you Smile with Purpose! At your first visit, our family orthodontists and team will provide you with all of the information you need to undergo a smooth, successful orthodontic treatment.
If you have orthodontic insurance, our team is happy to file your claims for you to ensure that you receive the maximum benefit. Our treatment coordinator will discuss your financial needs with you and work with you to create a payment plan that fits your budget.
